Heather Johnson

Co-Founder, CEO

I am an MBA graduate with a distinguished career as a business consultant and the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer at Gozynta. Since the company's inception in 2018, I have played a critical role in shaping its direction, focusing on developing robust sales, marketing, support, HR, and business development functions. My leadership philosophy centers on fostering an inclusive corporate culture, which has been instrumental in achieving remarkable diversity milestones, including a technical team that is 50% female and reflects significant racial diversity. My commitment to inclusivity is evident across all aspects of the organization, from recruitment practices to our marketing strategies, ensuring that Gozynta is recognized not only for its business achievements but also for its integrity and diverse workforce. Prior to joining Gozynta, I contributed to the leadership team of an internationally renowned interfaith university, where I also earned my MBA. This experience, coupled with my responsibilities in organizing events at the White House, has honed my skills in strategic planning and leadership. The Star Wars character I draw parallels to is Princess Leia, embodying her dedication to justice and unity in my approach to leadership and advocacy for diversity and inclusivity in the technology sector. My goal is to not only advance Gozynta's success but also to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the industry, championing a more inclusive and equitable work environment.

Brian Johnson

Co-Founder, CTO

My career has taken me on a lot of different paths: from working with tiny startups to working with Fortune 500 corporations, from embedded development in assembly to desktop applications to microservices on Kubernetes, electron microscopes, firearms, and helicopters to name a few things. I'm a self-taught software developer who has led 2 businesses. I spent 10 years doing development consulting for different companies, which gained me a lot of experience with different businesses. The more I learn, the more I realize that I don't know, but I'm happy to share some of what I've learned so far. If I were a Star Wars character? Ugh... Maybe R2 or Chewbacca? I don't need to be out front in the spotlight, I'd rather work quietly behind the scenes fixing things to keep everything running smoothly.

Brendan Bastine

With a rich history spanning 16 years in leadership, I have had the privilege of leading teams ranging from teams of 4 to robust teams of 125 individuals. I have spent the past decade in the role of a Service Delivery Manager, cementing my reputation as a seasoned IT professional with a comprehensive skill set. I bring extensive leadership experience and a proven track record in IT service management built on the sturdy foundations of ITIL 4. As a seasoned and results-driven IT professional, my forte lies in extensive leadership, coupled with a stellar track record in IT service management. My expertise spans IT operations, service desk management, IT documentation, process creation and implementation, project management, technical support, IT sales, and a comprehensive understanding of MSP software and their configurations. Armed with a unique blend of business acumen, leadership acumen, and technical proficiency, I am poised to make impactful contributions to any MSP. If I was a Star Wars character, I’d be Obi Wan Kenobi. Why? Because, much like the wise Jedi, I’ve got a strong moral compass, and I tackle problems with thoughtfulness and precision. As a marketer, I've embraced various roles, each enriching my experience and broadening my perspective. I infuse creativity into my work and daily life because I believe it brings a vital spark to our existence. This dedication to continuous learning keeps me evolving and excelling in the ever-changing landscape of my profession. If I were a Star Wars character, I would probably be Jar Jar Binks because anyone who knows me knows I am quite the yapper and I really fill a room.

With over 15 years assisting companies in a range of sectors, coupled with over 8 years of bookkeepig and financial experience, I thrive on process implementation and operational support. Throughout my career, I have worked hard to learn new skills, software, and management styles so that I could be a valuable member of any team. Taking on a wide variety of tasks and wearing multiple hats is something I enjoy, whether it be lowering SG&As ratios or creating entirely new processes as businesses grow and develop. My diverse experience across industries has given me an appreciation for different business operations, and the unique challenges that companies both large and small face. From companies with 90,000+ employees, to companies with 4 employees, every corporation I've worked for has had the desire to scale up and thrive in their respective fields. Being a piece of that puzzle, and watching the magic unfold, has been a rewarding experience. If I were a Star Wars character, I would be Grogu because while I might be small, I am fiercely loyal and much stronger than I appear. Much like the 'baby Yoda', I have a range of talents and I believe in using them to do what's right.

I am passionate about bringing new ideas to life and improving existing infrastructures and processes. In my free time, I like to spend time with my family and friends. I especially enjoy travel and being active. I have traveled to over 40 different countries and my current hobbies include surfing, scuba diving, and golf. Joseph Strano

Technical Support Agent and Consultant

I am a support-focused IT professional with over 6 years of experience working in the MSP space, primarily on service desks where I’ve supported a wide range of clients across industries. My work has focused on providing technical support, resolving IT issues efficiently, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for end users. Currently based in the Washginton, D.C. metro area, I'm excited to bring my skills and energy to the Gozynta team. I'm passionate about building meaningful connections, learning new tools, and making technology feel easy for others. Outside of work, I spend most of my time with Maya, my big, beautiful American Bully XL. She’s been by my side since she was a puppy and definitely runs the house. Whether we’re going on long walks, hanging out at the park, or just chilling at home, she keeps life entertaining and full of love. I have consistently swung between software design and programming throughout my career, and since choosing only one has caused me to miss the other dearly, I’ve decided to stick with both. Hailing from France, I’ve lived in the Netherlands for 2.5 years, and have now settled on the charming little island of Jersey, where aside from my job at Gozynta, I lend a helping hand to my husband and his father’s small MSP. If I were a Star Wars character, there’s about an 87% chance I’d be C3PO. I can get annoyingly chatty, had my left arm broken right below the shoulder, speak multiple languages, and enjoy using random statistics.

Before transitioning into tech, I worked as a teacher, where I practiced patience and problem-solving — because if you can explain things to kids, you can probably explain them to a computer (or at least try). Curious about technology, I started learning programming on my own and later enrolled in Codam Coding College in Amsterdam to deepen my knowledge in software development. If I were a Star Wars character, I’d be Chewbacca — because even if I don’t always have the words, I’m there to support others and ready to fix what’s broken.

My name is Joppe, I would describe myself as being chronically curious about anything technology related. When I was younger I started out writing shell scripts on my parents windows XP machine which lit the desire to pursue software engineering. A few years later I got really interested in electronics and music, besides my work at Gozynta you can find me in my workshop building synthesizers and tinkering with audio contraptions. If I had to pick a Star Wars character probably Darth Maul, he has a pretty cool double-bladed lightsaber.
